The Limitations of Logic and Absence of Absolute Certainty is an experiment. The piece sets up the conditions necessary to create a tornado. Utilising only what it necessary, moving air turns water vapour into a fierce vortex. In its simplicity and immediacy the piece aims to give direct contact with the awe, fear and beauty of the Romantic sublime.
The work consists of materials that reflect pure function, nothing is hidden from view. In this way the work is not only about the beauty of the tornado, but also the beauty of knowledge – the euphoric moment of discovery and understanding.
